Privacy Policy
Canopy is built from the ground up to respect your privacy. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the tool.
1. 100% Client-Side Processing
Canopy operates entirely inside your web browser or local computer. When you select a directory to scan, the folder indexing, tree generation, and metadata compilation are executed locally on your machine.
No file paths, folder structures, filenames, sizes, or contents are ever sent to any remote server or third party. Your drive layout remains entirely yours.
2. Offline-First Design
Because Canopy relies exclusively on native browser APIs, you can run the scanner, inspect results, and export HTML files while completely disconnected from the Internet.
3. Zero Tracking & Third-Party Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies, display advertisements, or collect telemetry on your indexed directories.
We use simple, privacy-friendly analytics trackers (like Vercel Web Analytics) on the marketing landing page strictly to measure overall visitor volumes, device types, and page loading speed. This tracker does not monitor or access any folders you upload to the local Canopy scanner utility.
4. Safe Exports
The exported `.html` files generated by Canopy contain all assets and directory tree data embedded inline. You are responsible for the distribution of these files. Once generated, these files can be shared securely offline.
